Elegant and intense are the atractive Jaen wines produced by DFJ.
Jaen is cultivated in Portugal since the second half of the 19th Century. It is pretty common in Dão and is likely to have been brought to the region by the pilgrims that headed for Santiago de Compostela.
Besides offering a generous production, this grape variety is also early-ripening; it is pretty sensitive to downy mildew and rottenness.
Wines produced from Jaen are essentially characterised by their deep colour, low acidity and intense red fruit aromas.
